Kagura is a Shinto ceremonial dance featuring traditional Japanese instruments and retellings of famous Japanese folk tales. Kagura is known for its elaborate, hand-made costumes and thrilling choreography. The Hiroshima area is a hotbed for Kagura troupes, with the downtown Hiroshima Prefectural Citizen’s Cultural Center hosting a performance from a different troupe every Wednesday.
