Hiroshima is home to several national sports teams. The Toyo Carp baseball team plays at Mazda Zoom Zoom stadium, located 5 minutes away from Hiroshima Station by car.  Baseball season lasts from late March to October.

The men’s and women’s soccer teams (Sanfrecce and Regina) play at the recently built Edion Peace Wing Stadium (about 10 minutes by car from Hiroshima Station). Soccer season lasts from February to November.

The Hiroshima Dragonflies basketball team plays at Sun Plaza Hall (less than 30-minute drive from Hiroshima Station). Basketball season is from October to May. The Hiroshima Dragonflies won the national championship in 2024, so visitors to Hiroshima have a great chance to see a high-level Japanese team play.
