Onomichi ramen originated in Onomichi City located on the coast of the Seto Inland Sea. Typical Onomichi ramen uses a soy sauce base for the broth and has flat wheat noodles and slices of pork back fat. It is also topped with various vegetables found in standard ramen dishes. You do not have to travel all the way to Onomichi to try it, as there are several restaurants featuring the dish located all around Hiroshima City.
