Known as the sake capital of Japan, Saijo is home to several major sake breweries, many of which are open for tours about sake brewing and sake tasting. They also have shops where you can purchase sake for yourself or as a souvenir. In October, Saijo holds its annual Sake Festival, which sees tens of thousands of visitors coming to the Sake Brewery Street to visit the local breweries to enjoy sake and food.
